Creative Journey with Dusty Attic

 Welcome creative friends!

The year is almost over and a new and hopefully better year is just around the corner.

I 'm happy to continue my creative journey with Dusty Attic, thanks so much!!

I especially love the nature inspired chippies, they fit many themes,

like right now the newly discovered garden pieces

We have winter here now, but especially in the grey dreary time the

anticipation of spring is all the greater.

But now to my mixed media layout of today, a real shower of stars 😃

a fireworks  that will for understandable reasons not take place in the night

of our New Year's Eve this year.

That is  probably the reason why there had to be so many stars.

I practically exploded the fireworks here using chippies, stamps and stencils,

a lot of golden stars in the dark blue night sky.

Halloween Night

 Welcome creative friends!

Every year the time comes for the spirits to roam free for the Halloween celebrations

on the night from 31 October to 1 November.

I'm not the biggest fan from such crazy party nights,

but I love to create with this funny spook, a lot of fantasy, in a dark foggy robe.

I used a starry night paper from Stamperia as magical background.

The combination of very special chipboards from Dusty Attic and some cutting dies from Sizzix

was perfect for a witchy layout in mixed media style.

Beginning of autumn

 Hello creative friends!

Autumn has arrived and the leaves are slowly falling from the trees.

A wonderful season that inspired me to create a leaf whirl with punched out motifs and chipboards.

 I selected the format 24 x 30 cm.

Tips & Tricks

firstly I draw a curved line with a pencil,

then I chose a wildflower stencil for the background

along the drawn lines  now stamped with waterproof ink pad

and matching autumn stamps (Stampers Anonymous)

now I punched out a lot of leaves and branches, together with some matching chipboards

and butterflies this resulted in a 3d living leaf whirl

Favourite Moments DT Dusty Attic August Moodboard

Welcome Dusty Attic friends!

Now it is my turn to feature a layout using the
beautiful Dusty Attic Moodboard for August.

I was inspired from the natural colours which reminds me on forest, water and sunshine.
So I chose a photo from a beautiful and relaxed hiking tour through the Saxon Switzerland National Park.

How I begun

I used a background paper from Maja Design. Firstly I primed the page with Clear Gesso. Then some stencils with white Modeling paste. After drying time I always love to work with brushes and diluted acrylic paints in various shades suitable to the Moodboard colours.

I'm a big fan of this very natural looking grass clusters, branches and wildflowers.
I painted with acrylic colours and chose for the wildflowers a dark green mixed with a little bit black and finally highlighted with white in dry brush technique.

Firstly primed with a Metallic Acrylic paint 'Dark Patina' (DecoArt),
at the bottom edge painted with some brush strokes and black paint for more contrast,
so it looks like a meadow silhouette.
In upper part with adiluted lighter green tone onto some places.

 Welcome Dusty friends!

I was inspired  to create a fantasy mixed media layout.

I was already in the mood for autumn, so I chose many shades of brown,

green and gold, wrapped in wafts of mist, mystical and enchanted.

Happy Easter for Maja Design

Hello creative friends!

I was inspired to create a mixed media layout in vintage suitable to the upcoming Easter days.

I used some beautiful papers from the 'Vintage Spring Basics' Collection.
7th of April as basic paper and added with some cut out's and stripes from
6th of May, 10th of March and 2nd of April.

I always love it to use some chipboards from Dusty Attic
and some natural materials such like feathers, sisal and willow catkins.

Hello!

What can be better as a big cup of hot chocolate in this cold season?!

I was inspired to create a vintage layout to my favourite theme - Chocolate -
because ''She doesn't ask silly questions, chocolate understands'' ;-)

Suitable to this theme I used the Maja Design paper collection 'Fika'
here can you find some wonderful shades of brown papers
in combination with the right motifs as cups, muffins, teapots and much more
