Best friends

Welcome!

I'm back  :-)

'Whoever said that diamonds are a Girl's best friend, never owned a dog'
In this saying is so much truth, dogs are always there for you no matter what.
I love the feeling when I get home and my 'Filou',
our sheltie dog is there to say 'wuff'' and cheer me up if I'm having a bad day.
I created this layout 'Best friends' in remembrance of a beautiful summer day on the beach,
where you can always meet many other friends at the dog beach.

more details can you see here

I have added some watercolours to the background under and around the picture area
It's really a pleasure for me to make my own background
with this beautiful colours
together with water arise amazing effects

some wonderful flowers from new Prima collections

for the  seagulls I used only a white embossing powder randomly distributed,
because I'm a big fan from a distress look

Happy crafting!

DT Scrap FX Waterbaby

Welcome!

and I'm back with a new layout for our DT Scrap FX
I have created a very summery and joyful layout with a lot of splatters and stains.

As I was a child I had the nick name 'water rat' because I never voluntarily came out of the water, even if the lips were already blue. Today, some years later has still not changed :-)

I have discovered my passion for watercoloring again, delicate colors with extending effects.

 used Scrap FX products

I have started my page with using this wonderful Coral Stencil and modeling paste
for the wordlet 'Water Baby Mini' I used for the upper part a white embossing powder and
in the area below two shades of blue acrylic paint

I always love to use some cutting dies, here waves and the little mermaid

Have you seen this fantastic seahorse stamp? one of my first stamps from Scrap FX,
an absolutely favourite from me

gives your photo the right frame and contrast, because it should be your focal point

Many thanks for your visit!
See you later :-)

DT Scraps of Darkness - Seaside ATB

Hello!

today a new inspiration for our month  June SOD 'Seaside Kits'.
As mentioned in my last post, I'm a big fan from this amazing
'Sand and SEA' layered die cut embellishments.

I'm not only a traditionell scrapbooker, my great passion are also projects for home decoration, always in mixed media style.
So I decided to make an Artist trade block - ATB, easy and quick and now
our new eyecatcher in bathroom.

I used an old square wooden block as basic. I take a brush and apply a thin layer of white 'Antiquing cream' from DecoArt. Then add some areas with white texture paste, mostly on edges. Let it dry and now you can use a Distress Crayon 'Salty Ocean' for some blue shades over the texture paste.
Then you can start with decorating your project.

I also used some word stickers from the new Kaisercraft collection

an amazing little tiny starfish, some Ice Queen Prills, a piece of  Coral Mesh Netting and some small dragonfly metal embellishments, all that materials can you find in our various month kits
which you can find here

The flowers and leaves from 49 and market are really wonderful, I thought it would be a beautiful
'headdress' for this sea inspired ATB.
Finally I colored all pieces and sides with a soft blue acrylic paint and added also some shells on the top of the flower.
Together with a circle chipboard, decosand and some pearls it was very suitable for me.

Happy crafting!

GD Maja Designs Summer Love

Welcome my friends!

I am very excited and honored to have been invited here this month as Guest Designer.
for Maja Designs
Thanks so much for your invitation!

I love the sea forever and ever. That's my place for relaxation, dreaming and inspiration.
As I saw the wonderful papers I thought, amazing the right colors for sea, beach and so much more.

My first layout shows our family sunshine 'Filou' it's a sheltie and he has always so much fun on the sea. His favourite occupation is to get sticks or balls out of the water.

Summer Fun

used materials
Maja Design papers: Summer Time -Having fun-; Life by the sea -Regatta-; Life by the sea -Marina-

Prima flowers, Scrap FX chipboards, Gauze, Texture paste white, Distress Stain Walnut ink, Embossing powder, 3D pearls, sea shells, metal embellishments, driftwood

a crumpled craft paper with burlap leftover, some self-collected shells
and a piece from edge stripe

some stains and splashes with paints diluted with water
together with some cut outs from the 'Marina' paper (flags and lighthouse)

Can you see the waves on my photo? I love the idea to continue some photo elements on the background paper. Here I used a white texture paste and a fan brush for more sea waves.

I also used some hand torn stripes together with colored gauze and a lot of little blue flowers

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Good day - We don't remember days, we remember moments

Sunshine, beach, the sea and more: while the little ones dig in the biggest sandpit, the grown-ups lounge in a beach chair enjoying the sun or take a refreshing dip in the sea.

 used materials:
Maja Design papers: Life by the sea -Sailing-, Life by the sea -Regatta-

Stencil 'Coral' Scrap FX, Clear stamps 'Maritim' Viva Decor, Dies - Lighthouse, Beach grass, Tattered flowers, white gesso, Chalkboard Glimmer Mist 'Boogie board' Tattered Angels, burlap, metal embellishment, tags, chipboard word from Scrap FX

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
 Hanse Sail
Maja Design papers: Sailing - Vintage Romance -Words of Love-, Life by the sea -Marina-
Embellishments - wooden seahorse, metalic charms, feathers, starfish, rope
3D pearls, Distress stain 'Walnut ink', chipboard wordlet Scrap FX, circle dies, stencil 'Bubbles'
embossing powder 'Burnt copper leaves'

I'm a big fan of old sailor ships. The 'Hanse Sail' shall take place once at year on the Baltic Sea. You can see there very impressive windjammers, traditional ships and museum ships. IT's really a highlight for me and my vintage soul.

So I used here more vintage colors, various brown shades and a wine red.
For the wooden seahorse I used a transparent crackle paste in combination with distress ink and a little bit copper wax creme.

some motifs from the 'Regatta' were very suitable for my photo
and I decided to use a round die to cut out these elements

A very long post, but rich on wonderful memories
and I hope also a lot of creative
inspirations and ideas
for you!

If I had the technology and would know how it works then there would be a video,
the good sake is not lacking!

Thanks for your visit!
Have a nice summer my friends!

DT Scraps of Darkness Tutorial 'Seaside Kit'

Welcome everyone!

today I want to share with you an inspiration for a new home decor piece
or as a little gift idea.
You can use it as photo frame or with a wonderful phrase.
I choose this saying from Emerson, it was on the 'Set Sail' paper from Kaisercraft
in our Main Kit.
I can promise you it will be easy and fast.
I worked with some of our June SOD 'Seaside Kits'.
I was very impressed from this new layered die cut embellishments from the new 'Sand and Sea' Collection from 49 and Market in the Element On Kit
and as I saw our Scraps of Darkness Creativity Add On,
I thought, yes that's the perfect combination - a wooden altered frame and this new 3D sea inspired embellishments.

and here you can find an easy tutorial how I made this
and some details from the finished piece

I love this awesome 3D effect, it adds so much dimension and life into your project.
I can only recommend you to try it yourself!

Simon says Monday challenge 'Distress it'
I used Distress 'Walnut Ink' together with some clear stamps (crackle, distress edge)
suitable to this old photo
Frilly and Funkie - In the good old summertime
sun and fun on the beach,
swim in the sea and discover all the mysterious creatures

DT Scraps of Darkness Fly a kite

Welcome!

my second layout inspiration with our

I was so amazed as I saw the new layered die-cut embellishments from 49 & Market
from our Elements Add On kit.
I'm in love with the delicate colors and 3D effect,
I could not wait to try them out.

The sand on the Baltic Sea is a perfect building material for castles and waterworks and there is always room to play football, fly kites or play beach ball.
As we were children, we often put the ear at the kiteline
to hear the wind sing. That is because the line is vibrating by the wind.

I used the wonderful background paper 'Seafoam'
from the awesome new collection 49 & Market 'Sand and SEA'

chipboards (frame from a kit last month) were colored with white acrylic paint
and embossed with 'Whirpool' Glitter Powder
finally highlighted with a cool starfish from the new 3D embellishment collection

for photo's I used cutting dies (gear and circles from Sizzix), some stickers from the new Kaisercraft High Tide collection, they are so very suitable and easy to use

from all these beautiful sea inspired embelli's can you make an amazing beach and underwater landscape, it's very easy and simple

here can you see an awesome 3D effect, it adds so much dimension to your layout
and an adorable seahorse , I love it!

in background you will see a coral stencil from my stuff
I used glimmer mist ('Coral' Tattered Angels) as paint with brush and sponge
but also sprayed them over the LO

It was a simple and fast making layout
but it was really a lot of fun!

I hope you like this inspiration
and all the other wonderful projects of our teamies!

Have a nice day my friends!

DT Scraps of Darkness - Family Fun

Welcome everyone!

This month kit 'SEASIDE' is truly a favourite for me,
because it's a very sea inspired theme, yes, I love it so much!!
It contains a lot of very beautiful background papers from 49 and Market and Kaisercraft.

on my first layout I used the background paper 'Overboard'
from the new Kaisercraft collection 'High Tide, some cutouts from 'Ahoy'
and some stickers from this collection

this wonderful sailfish was an inspiration for me, I thought it would be funny
when some fishes look out of the water and see what the people are do there

for the background I used firstly a coral stencil together with a blue spray mist, afterwards some maritim stamps with a brown staz on ink pad

swirl chipboard looks like a sea wave for me,
I colored this piece with a metallic acryl paint
together with some natural deco elements e.g. starfish, shells, sea sand, sea grass

little 3D butterflies from Prima were a perfect addition to this layout,
for the fishes I used a stamp with a blue ink pad

to finish my page I added some wonderful white daisies from Prima (a kit from a past month)
together with some Ice Queen Prills
from our Creativity Kit this month

Many thanks for your visit!
Enjoy your summer time!
