Delicate colours

Welcome!

and I'm back with a new layout for our DT Scrap FX.
Today in a very romantic style with a adorable photo,
which remember me on wonderful days in my childhood, as I visit my grandparents.
It was springtime and I'm a big lover of springtime flowers,
so I was pleased
as I saw this awesome Magnolia branch chipboard.

I used chalkboard paints for a fine romantic character
and added some little pearls in the centre for a 3D effect

The new stamps looks like lace, very filigran and delicate
They can be used as frame, border or for the edge design.

Finally I added spray and splatters also to the black card phrase,
so fits visually better into the whole spring layout design.

I want to share this springtime and motherday layout
here

I used a background paper from the 'En Francais Collection'
and elements from the new 'Love clipping collection'

Many thanks for your visit!
Have a nice time!

DT Scrap FX

Hello!

Our theme with the new products from

 this month is
- SHE -
As I saw this wonderful black card silhouette

She has fire in her soul
and grace in her heart
yes :-)
this is made just for me!
But unfortunately I'm not the greatest fan from my own photo's
they are so terrible,
so I decided to use a picture from an old magazine.
The new stencils are so suitable to this theme,
fresh, cheerful and free.

used materials from Scrap FX

more details and tips how I do this can you see

DT Scraps of Darkness - Smile

Welcome!

I was inspired  from this cool -Jeans- look on the Kaisercraft 'Indigo Skies' collection
I love denim in all variants as clothes or for home decoration pieces,
you know, you can used it also for amazing upcycle projects.

But now to my children layout in a romantic and playful style.

 :-) Smile - It Suits You :-)

As I saw the background paper 'Washed out' from this Kaisercraft collection
I thought, the time is right to try a new design.
I followed the triangle lines and cut some stripes
for the upper part a wide and at the bottom of layout
two thinner stripes
which I glued over each other.

the wooden alphabet tile are very practical
I chose the word 'Joy'
they are also paintable for instance with
a Distress Crayon

together with some lace leftovers, the white Prima flowers from the Main Kit
and highlighted with the 'Ocean' Ice Resin
Have you seen this wonderful butterflies in the Kaisercraft Collectables
found in the Element add on ?
They are perfect for a 3D effect, folds them and glue it only in the middle.

Thanks for your visit!
Happy crafting!

DT Scraps of Darkness - Dream it. Do it.

Welcome!

Kerstin here and a new project for our

I was so in love with the Indigo Storm paper from Kaisercraft found in the  the Main Kit
that I had to use it again.

I created a mixed media collage with dies, chipboards, nature deco elements
and a lot of beautiful memories.

The wood background paper are really wonderful especially for sea layouts, it reminded me of boardwalks and the other blue paper from this collection is my favourit,
it's so perfect for create such amazing stormy waves.
I tore it in two strips and glued on top of each other,
together with a crackle stamp (Kaisercraft) and a white permanent stamp ink,
the tattered edges were also inked with distress vintage paint .

some stamps in background, here a wonderful seahorse, because I'm a big fan from such fascinating sea animals and suitable a coral stamp (from Scrap FX)
I highlighted the wooden steering wheel with some blue Ice Resin sparkles glued with clear gesso.
Some word stickers from this paper collection made the little corner perfect for me.

some chipboards from Dusty Attic, a lighthouse created with turquoise
embossing powder and white acrylic paint diluted with water

two stripes from the Indigo Skies Sticker sheet together
with two chipboards
here with turquoise and green pearl embossing powder
and some white splashes about that

I'm also a big fan from dies, I love the idea to made some cut outs from photos,
photos doesn't  always have to be rectangular, or?!

little mermaids were also dies from my stuff, I stamped some white crackles on it

and some nature deco elements, little shells and snail houses, reindeer moss, driftwood pieces,
and leftovers from an old fishing net

I want to inspire you to try it out and create your own layout,
maybe as memory on a wonderful day by the sea?!
I want to share this layout
based on

Dies, Chipboards,  Stickers

DT Scraps of Darkness - Hooray

Welcome!

Kerstin here and a new project for our Scraps of Darkness Kit Blue Skies and Sunshine'.

I was inspired from the beautiful new paper collection Petal Lane
by Bo Bunny,
in the Main Kit
the right addition for a bright and wonderful mother days layout.
Have you seen this cool bike, it's a tandem
and remember me on my first tour
with such a fascinating
bike.

I used all the included papers from this collection,
'Petal Lane' as background and some stripes and cut outs
(a half bike, mandalas and flowers) .

I was inspired from this amazing
pennant chain and so I decided
to use this as a 3D element
it's very easy, you must only cut
the lines from the chains
and then can you lay your photo
behind this.
It looks amazing!

I also used some transparent stickers from Bo Bunny from our
last Kit and the bright and shiny yellow doilies as a half circle
behind the photo and in some stripes.
The pink flower stripes were highlighted
wit some cut out flowers,
she gives a naturally amazing effect.

I love this new flowers from Prima, it's a package
which not only contains flowers, but also buds and leaves. I added also
two little glass cabochons
(heart, dot)

and here can you see the half bike
which seems to drive out behind the photo.
I added also a cut out flower as hub
and a piece from a mandala
as spotlight.

Have a nice day!

DT SASPC - Desktop Organizer

Welcome!

I'm again and my second project inspiration for our monthly

Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial

On my desk mostly the pure chaos prevails
and I am constantly on the search for something.
Therefore I made a new organizer from old recycle materials
to have my brushes and pencils on one place.

I used some paper rolls from toilet and kitchenpaper.
I have cut the rolls in different sizes
and glued it all on a thick cardstock piece.
I started my alteration by using some DecoArt Weathered Wood,
then a thick layer of chalky finish paint 'Timeless'.
Let it dry.
Now a layer of fine Texture Sand paste
only in some places.

and now a mixture from some rust acrylic paints
DecoArt Fluid Acrylics Transparent Yellow, Iron Oxide, Quinacridone Gold and Carbon Black
Diluted in water they will run very well.

Finally some gears (dies with texture paper) rub ons and embellishments,
I highlighted all of the raised areas with a metalic silver wax creme
and the new organizer was ready.

My  teamies at SASPC have come up with many
inspiring and different versions

on the theme this time.
Happy crafting!

DT Scrap FX - It's Fairy Time

Welcome!

Kerstin here with a new inspiration for you.
I recently discovered my passion for ATC's.
It was new for me to work on such a small place.

I wasn't sure if our chipboards are right for such a little size,
but how you can see at our very talented
Scrap FX Teamies
 it's possible
and you are so many variants if you cut some of this pieces.

The only chipboard from SCRAP FX
that I have used here
is
Seaweed Stem - Click Image to Close

I was inspired from a dreamy world, little fairies and butterflies on a flowering meadow.
I love the color combination brown and blue, the perfect team for a vintage style project.

Together with some cutouts from old photos
and a wordphrase (Rub on transfer), some stamps for a background
and some pieces from a spiderweb (die)
I created four little cards.
I embossed the whole chipboard with 'Turqouise Shimmer'
 embossing powder (Emerald Creek Dares)
and then you can cut this piece in so many little pieces.

Hopefully you will now feel even more inspired to create your own
ATC's a wonderful idea, because they are can collected or traded,
and only need a small amount of space.
I really enjoyed working on mine!!!

I want to share this project

See you later friends
with a new inspiration :-)!

Mixed Media Inspiration

Welcome!
Today a new attempt from my mixed media laboratory :-)

I was inspired from a cool idea and this video 'Mixed Media Collage'

The little octopus was only a try
to model with air drying clay
it was more trouble than it was worth and still didn't give
me the proper effect, but no problem more practise and it would be better,
I hope!

We learn from mistakes, so in that sense they are something good.

EMBRACE IMPERFECTION!

Insider tip: tomorrow you can see a perfect octopus
from our Claudia!

Happy sunday!

DT CCB Upcycling - Two become One

Welcome!

Today a new upcycling project, it's a storage box for all my Spray Mist's from Tattered Angels.
My last upcycling project was a storage for washi tapes and now I was on search for a suitable box.
This box is at the same time a storage case, a home decoration project and an inspiration thing, because I added a little extra box for a pencil and leaflet, where I note ideas and flashes of genius.
So I decided to use two old crake boxes - two becomes one!

used materials from Tattered Angels
and other companies
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Chocolate Brown
 Tattered Angels Baseboard Lava
7 gypsies Architextures Paper Junk'n
7 gypsies Architextures Paper Market signs
7 gypsies Ordre du jour Seize the day Paper
Canvas corp paper brushes on ivory
Canvas corp Black & Craft French Linen Stripe
2 Fruit crates
Tim Holtz Vintage Portraits
Americana Decor Creme Wax Brown
Burlap leftovers
7gypsies Loops & Hooks
die - gears
black textured paper
wood and decoupage glue

Scissors, pincer,
Cuttlebug as cutting machine

one crate remains unchanged,
while you need from the other only
a short and two long side pieces
see Abb.

remove brackets with a pincer

glue the short piece (1) as an attachment on the upper side
and the 2 long pieces (2+3) on the front side

sometimes is nessary to use a rasp, then the surfaces will be better glue together

Tip: allow to dry overnight, because wood glue needed a longer drying time for a stable connection

Darken the wooden crate with brown wax,
I added spray and splatters for a more time-worn effect

 measure and cut backside

cut out your chosen motive and glue it with some other embellishments
(burlap, old photo cutouts, industrious stickers)
on the front side and on the upper attachment

for my little idea box I used a small matchbox and a paper cutout,
this paper is really great, because it looks like an original box handle

glue it on the front side

I added also some punched gears, an old photo cutout and  a metal saying
Finished :-)

Happy crafting!
Kerstin
